COVID-19 STATEMENT

Good to Go from Visit Wales

Welcome

Hello and thank you for visiting our website. The Pembrokeshire coastal path and beaches are once again closed, although we are accepting bookings for Spring, offering our quibble-free Covid free cancellation/ postponement policy.

The health and well-being of our guests, the local community and our family, is our top priority and we will continue to make every effort to create the safest experience for everyone, once our doors re-open.

We will be offering contactless check-in and check-out to all guests during 2021. Further safety measures may be put in place we open, subject to change.

By taking a holiday, you are accepting the associated risks of acquiring COVID-19. We will put all the necessary measures in place within our business, to ensure that this risk is as low as possible and keep this page up to date with our new measures and the changing situation.

Following is the policy put in place during 2020. Although this is a constantly changing situation, we expect things to remain the same during 2021. We will review this page once we have up to date information. Until then, please feel free to contact us with any further enquiries.

Here's what to expect:

Cancellation policy

The Manor Town House is a privately-owned very small hotel / B&B. So far during the pandemic, we have not charged any cancellation fees, nor have we insisted that people to move their reservations when cancelling, although many have asked to do so.

Our current cancellation policy, charging the minimum of your first night stay, will remain in place while the UK and Welsh Governments allow us to be open, and do not restrict your travel. However, when this is not the case, there is no cancellation fee or commitment for you to move your reservation. Although we do not take a deposit, card details are required to secure your reservation and are used to charge cancellations.

We are passionate about reopening in a safe way, and we need your support to do that. We do ask that if you, someone in your household or colleagues are unwell to not visit us until you are feeling better.

Pre-arrival

You will receive a virtual guest information pack once you have made a reservation. We will then send an email to you the week prior to your arrival, where you can fine-tune your reservation. This is to ensure that you have all the information you require, and that we can plan for your stay, take any special requests for lunches and teas, etc, in advance. We will also ask for the time of your expected arrival.

Payment

We will invoice your room bill by email and all bills will need to be paid by card, by the evening before check-out. You will be able to settle your room bill at any point during your stay. If you wish to pay by a different card to the one you have used to secure your booking, you will need to let us know in advance, otherwise we will charge your bill to the card details that we have.

Your Stay

On arrival, everyone will be asked to use the hand sanitiser provided in the entrance. Hand sanitiser will be provided throughout our spaces for all to use. We're also introducing a no-touch policy, so a warm welcome but no handshakes for the moment unfortunately.

We are fortunate to have a very spacious ground floor entrance with 3 open- plan reception rooms. Currently in Wales, we are not allowed to have any communal rooms or lounges open to guests, so the reception area has been reconfigured for social distancing and one-way traffic, wherever possible. There will be clear signage and distance markings to make it easy.

All extraneous soft furnishings and room extras have to be removed. We will use a combination of steam cleaners, professional carpet cleaning, fogging machine and disinfectant spray for all other upholstery and window dressings. Cushions that you may find in your room will have been swapped and replaced with ones that have been freshly cleaned.

Breakfast

Breakfast is complimentary. Legally, we are currently only permitted to open in Wales if we provide room service breakfast. No shared guest areas are allowed to be open for guest use.

Breakfast will be Helen's take on a continental breakfast using fresh Welsh produce where possible, which will be left outside your door at a pre-arranged time. Breakfast will be served 'to-go' style, so that you can take it outside on the terrace and enjoy the view weather permitting or take it away if you plan an early start. Any packaging used will be eco-friendly, either compostable or recyclable, for which we offer collection.

We will review how we continue to serve breakfast once regulations in Wales have been relaxed, and we reserve the right to only make changes that we consider appropriately safe for our business.

Timings

We always aim to be as flexible as possible, however, to minimise traffic in the house in the mornings with departure times, bearing in mind that we will be operating lower occupancy, we will endeavour to arrange check out times, to be convenient for everyone. For arrivals by car when a long journey is involved, as usual we will ask for an approximate arrival time and ask for a quick call ahead, once you have arrived in the car park.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

To keep everyone safe and healthy we will be wearing appropriate PPE. We do not insist, but would prefer for guests to wear masks in the house, while going to and from their rooms.

Luggage Handling

Should you require assistance with heavy luggage, we are happy take it to or from your room, whilst you whilst you wait in reception. A separate luggage in and luggage out area will be clearly marked in reception. Gloves will be used to pick up all luggage.

Garden Terrace

The garden terrace will be open for guests to enjoy the fresh air and our beautiful sea view. We have sufficient space for 4 rooms to sit socially distanced. Although we will be cleaning the tables frequently ourselves, this is a secluded space for guests to enjoy peace and quiet. Therefore, appropriate cleaning supplies will be available for your reassurance, prior to being seated.

Managing Capacity

For new bookings, where possible, we aim to leave rooms empty for a day between guests leaving and new arrivals. Existing reservations will not be affected.

Travelling in a Bubble

If you wish to travel with people outside your household, grandparents or relatives in an extended family bubble, (according to the governments coronavirus regulations https://www.gov.uk/guidance/meeting-people-from- outside-your-household-from-4-july), please call to discuss options. We acknowledge that you may need one or more rooms, however, children under 16 will need to stay in a room with an adult.

Deep Cleaning and Housekeeping Service

We will be deep cleaning our spaces overnight. This will be supported by constant cleaning throughout the day, focusing on high contact surfaces. We've added new technology in cleaning and sanitation products to provide increased disinfection in bedrooms between stays.

There will be no housekeeping between stays. However, a skeleton service will operate for guests staying over 3 nights and all rooms will have the option for daily refuse collection. Additional tea tray, bottled water supplies etc, will be allocated in your room in advance. Of course, additional supplies are available upon request.

Training

We aim to operate with a lower occupancy where new bookings are concerned to allow us to operate the B&B ourselves, thereby reducing the need for other staff on the premises. Where we have existing bookings, this may not always be possible. Any members of staff will receive return-to-work training, taken through all new processes in detail, given daily health checks and be provided with enhanced protection.

Bar Drinks, Packed Lunches, Afternoon Teas

We happily welcome advance orders for our gourmet packed lunches, picnic hampers and new take-away afternoon tea prior to your stay. And although our Honesty Bar is currently closed, we will continue to offer a selection of wines, chilled beers and G&T's which you can call ahead to order. Full menu's will be available in the virtual room guide.

Evening Meals and Lunches

While restaurants and cafe's remain closed, many are serving new take-away menus along with the existing take-away options in and around Fishguard. Most have on-line ordering, payment and bookable collection times. Plates, crockery and extra glasses will be provided in your room and hopefully you can enjoy eating al fresco, either here or there.
